My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

A Request for Intervention from President Trump

President Trump, please insist that my sons and daughter-in-law be immediately and honorably discharged from all government programs.

The apparent intent by the FBI and its affiliate agencies to extract false witness statements from them, to order them to engage in conduct involving harming the innocent public, and thus to "legally" ensure the deaths of my entire family through misguided and concealed judicial proceedings cannot be justified.

No President would wish this type of indefensible FBI conduct to compromise his legacy.

No one would wish to be remembered as a leader who allowed the FBI to prey upon the most virtuous Americans for profit.

And no elected official would wish to be known as allowing the FBI to repeatedly violate the safety and sovereignty of the children of a highly honorable advocate for the long term human rights of all Americans as the agency profiteered from accounts bearing her name and/or identity.

My sons both now possess disabilities due to the wrongful and predatory acts of the FBI and its affiliates, and as such, their disability rights must be acknowledged and upheld.

As my older son's Durable Power of Attorney and Durable Medical Power of Attorney, I have already withdrawn him from all government programs.

I have not been allowed to see my younger son in order to assess his capacity since recent injuries caused by his handler, but, certainly, this visit -- now scheduled for Christmas Eve -- should be facilitated by all involved in this case.

Mr. President, let's stop facilitating those among the FBI and its affiliates who have harmed my family, and let's discuss the very real changes that need to be implemented if the fundamental freedoms of Americans are to endure in the long term.

Outreach to me is needed at this time, along with immediate protection of my family.

Thank you for your concern and your intervention in this critical matter.

Sincerely yours,

Lane MacWilliams
