My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

A Letter to Two Embassies Requesting Intervention

 1.  How is your safety and security within Whistler, B.C. at the current time?

Answer:  I would rate it as poor.  It's difficult for me to ride an elevator or take my dogs for a walk without a threat of knowingly falsified law enforcement reporting, physical harm or kidnapping.  So, I continue to be needlessly imperiled, without question.

2.  You have requested help from the U.S. Ambassador to Canada and the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S.  Is that correct?

Answer:  Yes, it is.

3.  And will that help be forthcoming?

Answer:  I don't believe the ambassadors wish to see me come to harm and I don't believe they wish to see my dogs harmed either.  So, I hope their concerns will prevail in this circumstance.

4.  Did you originally send your communication to the Embassies confidentially?

Answer:  I did.  However, a prompt response was not forthcoming.

5.  Are you now willing to publish your emailed letters to the Embassies in order to fully document your communications to them?

Answer:  I am, yes, and this is due to security concerns that are mounting and as yet unaddressed.

6. When were these emails originally sent, please?

Answer:  They were sent on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 3:27 PM Pacific Time.

7.  What was the subject line, please?

Answer:  It was Priority Request for Embassy Intervention to Ensure Safety and Security of U.S. Traveler to Canada.

8.  Thank you for sharing this documentation with us this afternoon.  Please check back with us as soon as possible to let us know how your safety is being supported.

Answer:  You are quite welcome, and I will continue to update my blog with the status of our health and wellbeing.
