My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

An Open Letter to President Trump

Dear Mr. President:

My sons and daughter-in-law are currently suffering because of the manner in which their handlers are causing them targeted and unrelenting harm, the specifics of which I have previously described.

In the interests of forward progress, please insist that these agency assaults cease immediately, Sir.  Certainly, Tom Lyons and Brandan Pesa have a central role to play in insisting on this cessation alongside you.

I do recognize that A. is placing pressure on our government with regard to his desire to misappropriate funds that have been awarded to me as the result of FBI malfeasance pertaining to my case.

Yet A. needs to wait.

Funds awarded to me must be returned to my account.  Their intent is the preservation of the sovereignty of the United States, not its irreversible undoing.

A., despite his remarkable abilities, is not God.

And this is clear to us all, because God does not take hostages as extortion for vast sums from the United States National Treasury.

If A. will answer to no one else, he will answer to me.

And I say, as the mother to two beloved sons, and to a cherished daughter-in-law, A. must now relent or face his exposure to the American public as a whole -- a step for which I daresay, he is not quite prepared.

President Trump, please assist me in holding the line on this requirement.

No nation can thrive when it takes its most promising and beloved youth hostage on behalf of an unjust external dictatorship.

Thank you for your support, Sir, regarding this most critical concern.

Sincerely yours,

Lane MacWilliams
