OIG Hotline, whether or not I am provided with material pursuant to my FOIA request in a timely manner, by this Friday, August 7, 2026, I will, fairly soon, be returning to my home state of California, stopping in Arizona on the way to close out my temporary apartment there.
I would like to be able to curate my materials in a thorough and thoughtful manner, with discussion with an insightful independent intermediary who would assist in that process.
As I have stated, I am a California resident, and I look forward to returning to my home state to incontrovertibly reaffirm my residency, removing all quarter to those who have been attempting to misrepresent my travel.
Would I like to return to visit Springfield, Illinois and other parts of the United States if my safety can be re-established?
Yes, but those fundamentals are not yet in place, and provision of my documentation would be required in order reclaim the modicum of safety and security that are so foundational to any meaningful quality of life as an honorable American human rights advocate.
Thank you for allowing me to express these plans.
Most sincerely,
Lane MacWilliams
