My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

UPDATE: Return Home

UPDATE: 2:46 PM OIG Hotline, we have safely returned home after having four documents pertaining to my older son notarized in Santa Clara.  I will be providing that material to your Office shortly.

Unfortunately, our home appears to have been entered in my absence.  I do possess the vehicle information for the likely intruder and will be providing that soon as well.

It is notable that radon gas measures have skyrocketed in our absence.  I now need to ascertain that there are no intruders within our residence at this time, as well as to assess further possible environmental harms.

Needless to say, the home entry was wildly inappropriate.

Fortunately all of my documents are safe, but personal jewelry could easily have been taken, as could other personal clothing items, and personal belongings.

It is fair to say that I would appreciate the return of all items the FBI and its affiliates have removed from my home over time.

I cannot be safe in a residence that is routinely entered in my absence, and that assessment is the understatement of the millenium.

Most respectfully,

Lane MacWilliams

9:38 AM OIG Hotline, I am driving my older son to his college class at this time.  All documents are safe and remain in my direct possession, with no dissemination, duplication or transfer.

I will update this post when I have safely returned home.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams
