My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Extension of Deadline

OIG Hotline, my older son has indicated a willingness to sign documents which will guarantee that he declines to participate in any government programs or government-affiliate programs now or in the future.

Seventy two hours from my original requirement for this material will not allow sufficient time for these materials to be adequately prepared.

As a result, I will extend this deadline through Saturday February 7, 2026 for my older son.

It appears clear that my younger son and daughter-in-law will require an in-person discussion regarding this requirement.  As a result, I will follow up with your Office regarding this timing.

As soon as documentation from my older son is complete, I will provide this information to your Office.

Thank you for waiting to fulfill my provision to my sons and daughter-in-law until this requirement can be satisfied according to my standards.

Please allow me to extend written communication to my brother regarding the matter of his freedom from all further tasking through government programs prior to the fulfillment of my provision to him as well.

Again, I will update your Office with this information at the earliest opportunity.

I appreciate your support with these procedural concerns, upon which avoidance of conflict of interest relies.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams
