We are seeing an increased presence of federal agents in our cities across the United States at this time, and we will soon see increased National Guard deployments as well.
There are reasons for this that pertain to the national defense, entirely separate and apart from immigration issues, and, as a result, our government does not believe it is possible to withdraw these initiatives, defund the budgets of local or federal law enforcement, or for the public to reasonably expect that these deployments will diminish or cease in the short term.
Having said that, awards that have been extended in my case ought not to be appropriated for the funding of ICE surveillance, ICE arrests, ICE detentions, ICE transports, ICE deportations, ICE hiring, or ICE deployments in general.
I am deeply concerned by allegations that I or my family members may have been wrongfully designation as "domestic terrorists" by the DHS, at the specific directive of the FBI, for the express purpose of individual profiteering from funds awarded in this case. I hope that Secretary Noem will intervene in this matter to promptly remove any such wrongful claims.
I regret that I do not have the means of assessing the credibility of these allegations at this time.
However, I must express that I do not support ICE funding being drawn from this case in any way, shape or form.
To do so would represent a gross distortion of the entire intent of my case, which is the long term preservation of the human rights of Americans, and, by extension, those who are influenced by the long term human rights conduct of the United States.
Accordingly, I would respectfully request that any and all such allocations be decisively and permanently prohibited.
I will be the first to acknowledge that the mission and objectives of the FBI and its affiliates are profoundly difficult.
That's why my focus is on the long term rescue of Americans' human rights. That feat will require leadership of the highest character and integrity, and it can only succeed if America's wealth has not been sequestered by the enemies of human sovereignty, but rather saved and protected for better goals.
I ask for the support of all in the defense of funds awarded in my case, in the full knowledge that the long term freedom of our nation relies on our commitment to Americans' voices, their sovereignty, their humanity, their benevolence, their resilience, their honesty, and their good faith.
Let us be worthy of their trust, so that, knowing our efforts, they will say we served them well.
Most sincerely,
Lane MacWilliams
