My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Has Tax Accountant JoAnn Chow Committed Intentional Errors on Our Tax Returns at the Instruction of Her FBI Handler?

OIG Hotline investigators, our tax accountant JoAnn Chow is highly capable.  She used to work for the IRS, and she has the notable tendency to encourage her clients to overpay their taxes so that they don't experience problems with state and federal tax authorities.

Even so, Ms. Chow selected the wrong tax bracket concerning taxes owed by me on my sale of my AFE shares at the end of 2022.  I, who am no accountant, needed to correct her.

I find this unusual.

I also find unusual the fact that we have, according to a letter from the California Franchise Tax Board dated February 21, 2023, but delivered to the wrong address according to a notation on the envelope (please see photo below), underpaid our 2020 taxes due to the state of California by $467.21.

Given that we originally overpaid our taxes due to the state of California in 2020 by $8,000, it seems unusual that the state would have failed to claim their fair share of taxes due to them.

Now, following threats from far right FBI affiliates that my husband and I will be targeted for auditing harassment by state and federal tax authorities due to my stance as a whistleblower of FBI malfeasance, we have been asked to pay $467.21 with a mandatory requirement of online payment through establishing a "myftb" account.

Does establishing a "myftb" account involve the waiver of privacy rights that I have been told it does?

Was this one of the objectives of this tax letter?

I don't have verification on this point, but, out of an abundance of caution, I believe our accountant should pay this bill online on our behalf.

It's worth noting that, if I am overdue on any tax payments whatsoever, my home insurance through MPIUA can be cancelled.  The FBI, having read my policy due to MPIUA's status as signatory to Infragard, knows this perfectly well.

Given that this tax bill is listed as having a due date of March 8, 2023, three days ago, if the FBI elects to burn down my house this weekend, as it has threatened to do -- corrupt federal agents can cause me to lose my family home.  The flooding and vandalism threatened by FBI affiliates as alternate harms would serve an identical outcome.

Is it true that late tax bills for the state of California are reported to the IRS, thus rendering taxpayers susceptible to federal audit?

What seems clear is that far right segments of the FBI attempt to wield state tax authorities and the IRS as weapons in the service of totalitarian aims.

Should the FBI be engaging in dialogue with state and federal tax authorities in an apparent attempt to punish whistleblowers of the agency's malfeasance toward the law-abiding American public?

Should the FBI be paying individual state or federal tax personnel to follow their harmful directives?

Should the FBI be attempting to forcibly divest whistleblowers of their homes?

Should the FBI be directing CPAs to miscalculate taxes due to state and federal tax authorities with the intent of harassing and harming "targets of interest" for anti-democratic objectives?

Should they be paying accountants to make intentional errors on tax returns?

Do any of these actions correspond to Constitutional restraints on unlawful harms perpetrated by federal law enforcement officers?

I believe this matter should be illuminated for the public, given its importance to the public interest.

American citizens should be happy to pay their fair share in state and federal taxes, as we are.

They should be able to view state and federal tax authorities as above corruption, just as they should be able to turn to their tax accountants with faith that these experts are not accepting pay in order to deceive taxpayers about the amounts they owe.

Beyond this, U.S. Postal Service employees should deliver mail from state and federal tax authorities without "losing" time-sensitive letters.

I hope that OIG Hotline investigators will be able to speak with CPA JoAnn Chow about the specific directives her FBI handler has extended to her pertaining to our tax returns.  I believe they would benefit from speaking to accountant Esther Yang about FBI directives related to falsified law enforcement reporting as well.

Ms. Yang is a highly ethical person, and Ms. Chow does not relish deceit either.  So the two of them may be surprised to discover that their signed witness statements to the FBI were subsequently altered without their consent.

Further, it would interesting to learn who within the FBI has been directing California Franchise Tax Board personnel to send demands for payment with two-week deadlines from the date of correspondence.  I highly doubt this represents a normal, or even allowable, timeframe for such letters within the state of California.

Again, if we want to create an America in which citizens are excited about our commitment to fairness, opportunity, and the future of all Americans, regardless of their economic starting point, we need to engage with one another without deceit, payoffs, corruption, and sabotage.

The fact that far right segments of the FBI appear to be perpetrating these wrongs in the name of national security represents a terrible distortion of our potential.

If we want to create and sustain a thriving middle class on which all democracies depend, we need to engage with one another with honestly and integrity.  The far right should not be obstructing that honest and fair engagement for any reason.

The totalitarian aims of far right FBI personnel stand as a poor excuse for the corruption that appears to be standard practice for these wayward individuals claiming to act in the greater interests of the nation.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams

The FBI is a deeply divided agency.  There are many FBI employees who view their vows to the Constitution with the utmost seriousness and honors nd who strive to defend the fundamentals of our democracy with courage, fortitude and commitment.  The fact that some segments of the FBI appear to have embraced a lawless course is not a justification to assail the FBI in general.  As President Joseph R. Biden has so rightly expressed, violence is never justified in any circumstance.  The rule of law must always be honored and upheld.  It is our shared determination to preserve the civil liberties and human rights of all Americans that renders the United States a democracy.  We must never abandon this promise. All of our most cherished freedoms depend upon it.
