My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Will the Real "Gerig Valeri" Please Step Forward?

1.  What can be said about an FBI that is attempting to frame whistleblowers of crimes they did not commit in order to justify a law enforcement raid?

Answer:  It's difficult to know where to begin in addressing this issue.  The corruption is so extensive and the stakes are so high.

2.  What is at stake exactly?

Answer:  Our democracy.  Our Constitution.  The rule of law.  Your civil rights and mine.

3.  Does it seem to you that, when you called "Mold Restoration" yesterday morning, you may actually have been calling a sham business set up by the FBI?

Answer:  The business appears to be shut down today, so this possibility must be considered.

4.  Why did you decide to call a mold remediation company in the first place?

Answer:  For the sole reason that my former plumber Tim Duffany is alleged to have caused leaks in all three bathrooms at my family residence at 40 Gansett Rd. Woods Hole, MA.  Mold grows rapidly on Cape Cod in the presence of any leak or water damage.  I serve as Trustee of this home, so it's my responsibility to maintain it.

5.  Otherwise you could experience insurance cancellation or a lawsuit, both of which have been threatened by FBI affiliates.

Answer:  Yes.

6. Your stalker seems to have indicated that the alleged 1099 form sent to your residential address in Portola Valley from Jim Mellano/AFE may be playing some central role in the FBI's scheme of falsified law enforcement reporting against your family.

Answer:  That is correct.  He has suggested this.

7.  Where is that letter at this time?

Answer:  Unretrieved, unopened, and undisturbed in our locked residential mailbox.

8.  You have transferred ownership of that letter to OIG Hotline investigators, because you suspect it may constitute proof of the FBI's engagement in falsified law enforcement reporting for anti-democratic objectives.

Answer:  I have.

9.  Has anyone contacted you to retrieve that letter on behalf of the OIG Hotline?

Answer:  No.  Not as of this writing.

10.  Do you feel that the safety of your family is currently at risk, because that letter is currently sitting in your locked mailbox?

Answer:  Clearly.

11.  Yet, you believe that, if you attempted to forward it to OIG Hotline investigators, FBI personnel would quickly take possession of the letter in order to engage in evidence tampering.

Answer:  This seems a likelihood for an agency that is unused to being held accountable for its malfeasance against the law-abiding American public.

12.  When did you notice that "Brian" from "Mold Restoration" had a Russian caller ID?

Answer:  This morning when I checked the call log on my landline.

13.  His name appeared on your call log as "Gerig Valeri."  Is that correct?

Answer:  Yes.

14.  Did you give "Brian" aka "Gerig Valeri" any means of sending photographs of mold to you as part of the mold inspection he was supposed to conduct at your property?

Answer:  I gave him my email address, lanemacwilliams@gmail.com.

15.  Will you be opening any emails from "Brian" aka "Gerig Valeri"?

Answer:  Absolutely not.  I will be deleting them from my email immediately.

16.  Did you document your phone calls yesterday with both "Mold Restoration" and "Brian" aka "Gerig Valeri"?

Answer:  In their entirety.  Yes.

17.  Is the full content of those phone calls available to OIG Hotline investigators upon their request?

Answer:  Yes.

18.  You documented those calls on this blog in a post labeled for the OIG Hotline only.  Why did you make that choice?

Answer:  For the sole reason that I did not want my home insurer MPIUA, which is signatory to Infragard, to say that they chanced across my online post about mold and pest concerns at my property.

19.  Normally, law-abiding American citizens can pursue home maintenance in a confidential manner.

Answer:  Normally, they can.

20..  You also called Fowler and Sons pest control yesterday to check on your property at 40 Gansett.

Answer:  I did, yes.

21.  Do you have concerns about the manner in which the FBI may importune this company, given that their personnel may have access to your home?

Answer:  I do.

22.  What are you going to do about those concerns?

Answer:  I am considering the best course of action at this time.

23.  How do you feel about the manner in which the FBI is being allowed to prey upon your family?

Answer:  It's dystopian.  We need to consider the implications when the enforcers of the law represent the greatest threat to the democracy.

24.  What needs to happen in order for you to reclaim your fundamental safety?

Answer:  Transparency and accountability.  FBI personnel should not receive a slap on the wrist for attempting to implicate my family and myself of crimes we never committed.  They should be rigorously investigated, and, if investigators deem it appropriate, charged.

25.  What happens otherwise?  What happens if federal law enforcement authorities are given dispensation to lie with impunity about the law-abiding American public?

Answer:  Totalitarianism happens.  Nothing less.  And I guess, from my perspective, I feel that if we have devolved into a totalitarian regime, I would like to force the FBI to be honest about that fact.  If Christopher Wray wants to send corrupt law enforcement officers into my home with guns blazing, he should have to explain to the American people why his usurpation of their civil liberties and human rights represents the best course of governance.  I don't think it's appropriate to allow compromised FBI leadership to hide behind false accusations toward a law-abiding whistleblower.  At all.  In any circumstance.  And everyone participating in falsified law enforcement reporting toward the law-abiding American public must be held to account, or else our declarations about the preservation of our freedoms as American citizens will have become a sham.

26.  Democracy cannot survive in the face of a lying FBI.

Answer:  No, it can't.

27.  Do you hereby certify that the foregoing is true and correct?

Answer. I do.

************************************************************************************

The FBI is a deeply divided agency.  There are many FBI employees who view their vows to the Constitution with the utmost seriousness and honor, and who strive to defend the fundamentals of our democracy with courage, fortitude and commitment.  The fact that some segments of the FBI appear to have embraced a lawless course is not a justification to assail the FBI in general.  The safety of FBI agents should be protected, just as the safety of the American citizenry should be protected.  As President Joseph R. Biden has so rightly expressed, violence is never justified in any circumstance. The rules of law must always be honored and upheld.  It is our shared determination to preserve the civil liberties and human rights of all Americans that renders the United States a democracy.  We must never abandon this promisee.  All of our most cherished freedoms depend upon it.
