My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

The Necessary Recusal of Judge Aileen Cannon

OIG Hotline, in general, I avoid making comments about the judiciary, because I feel it is wrong for judges to come under pressure from the public.  But so, too, it is wrong for judges to come under pressure from the Executive Branch and/or the FBI.

In the case of Judge Aileen Cannon, there are disturbing allegations of corruption by some individuals who are fearful of disclosure of their conduct in this case.

Suggestions of judicial bribes are so pervasive with regard to this matter, and allegations of "death squad rulings" on the basis of knowingly falsified evidence so repeatedly extended, that it seems urgent to give voice to the necessity that Judge Cannon recuse herself from all further rulings on this case.

Any and all of her prior rulings should be appealed to the Supreme Court, accompanied by investigative findings relating to an objective review of Judge Cannon's sudden increase in personal assets, together with all of her recent communications with FBI personnel about this case and the aggregation of those assets.

Along with this, any ruling on the part of Judge Cannon pertaining to President Trump's right to secrecy and/or immunity in this case should be appealed to the Supreme Court.

Thank you for allowing me to express these most serious concerns.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams
