President Trump, thank you for extending honorable discharge status to my sons Graham MacWilliams, Duncan MacWilliams, and Duncan's girlfriend, Mary Grinnell.
I'm sure this was a decision you weighed carefully, and I wish to extend my deep and abiding gratitude to you for deciding to preserve and restore my family over and above all other objectives for them individually.
As you know, my son Duncan MacWilliams is about to travel to Panama to attend the wedding of dear friend who is closely related to Panama's President. How joyful his travel will now be, given that he can focus on his friendship and the joyful event without other worries for his safety, that of Mary, or others in our family.
Before your decision to grant Duncan honorable discharge, I appeared to be receiving threats of violence toward him and/or toward Mary through street crime in Panama, an arrest due to failure to register in certain ways required by his travel, an arrest for other reasons, a staged plane accident, a fall from a height, a staged drug overdose, a kidnapping, the deployment of a non-conventional vector of dangerous disease, or the failure to provide a reversal of a dangerous disease, among many others threats.
Now, I have every assurance that he and Mary will maintain their safety, as will my older son, my husband and I myself.
President Trump, thank you.
I cherish my children. All of them.
The love between a mother and her children is something that transcends our normal limitations. They are rather inevitably drawn together, as the strength of this connection is so profound as to surpass normal human barriers.
So thank you for upholding my children at this time, and at all times.
Our children represent the greatest potential of mankind, our chance to surpass our previous limitations in manifesting our most prescient and profound gifts.
I am reminded of the quote from Samuel 1, which has always moved me for its affirmation of our commitment to the sanctity of the human spirit:
If you will give me a son, I will give him back to you all his life ...
Our children are to be shared with one another and with the world in good faith, that we all may uphold them, support them, honor them, help them, and guide them into the fulfillment of their greatest potential.
I appreciate your upholding my efforts in this most important effort, President Trump.
This, more than all other initiatives, will shape humanity's future course.
My role in nurturing these rare individuals remains the key to that next step.
Most sincerely,
Lane MacWilliams
