My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Calling for Unanimity of Effort

 1.  What is your view on the reports now due to you?  How do you think they can best be used?

Answer:  I think that the United States should gain back substantive sovereignty and self-determination, and I think this case can assist in that process.  With that change, I think that the United States should claim a clear leadership role regarding longstanding issues of profound importance to our global environment.  The United States is best positioned to insist on global standards for energy policy, biodiversity and climate protection.  And it is ideally placed to ensure the preservation of critical human rights in the long term.

2.  Does this case have the potential to manifest that shift -- even outside of the public sphere?

Answer:  If our leaders have the strength and the capacity to ensure that I receive the full reports, then I, in turn, can utilize the full import of the documentation to require the substantive changes in the United States' role that will reclaim critical elements of our national sovereignty, territorial integrity, environmental security, future independence, and sustenance of long term human rights.

So, yes, this case has the potential to facilitate this change.

3.  The reports allegedly contain powerful content.

Answer:  So others have said, and I'm sure that is true.  Let's not water it down.  Let's wield it for great good on behalf of the future.

4.  Would the presence of high-level attorneys in dialogue with you and with others be helpful in this situation?

Answer:  It is critical, in my opinion.  And Legal Aid BC is perfectly positioned to manifest that relationship.

5.  Are you asking for broad-based support regarding this matter?

Answer:  Yes, I would ask for unanimity of effort.

6.  Can you please reflect on the ongoing harm of your sons and MX in this situation?

Answer:  The ongoing harm of my sons and MX helps our foreign adversaries, not our own nation.

All aggression toward them must be halted.  I ask for the active participation of critical partners in this endeavor.

7.  Thank you for speaking with us this afternoon.

Answer:  You are quite welcome.
