My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Restricted Access: For OIG Hotline Investigators Only

This post is intended for the Investigations Division of the Office of the Inspector General Hotline of the U.S. DOJ only.

All other readers are asked to exit this post at this time.

Because this post contains medical information, it will appear for a short time prior to being removed from this blog.

OIG Hotline investigators, the documents posted herewith allow you to speak to four of Graham MacWilliams' health care providers:  Dr. Jacob Ballon, Dr. Kristin Stent, Doug Bodin of the Bodin Group in Los Altos, CA, and Dr. Laurence Katznelson.  Please also reference the Limited Medical Power of Attorney provided in a separate post.  It is my hope that, with these documents in hand, you will be able to fully ascertain FBI/Infragard communications with this group of health care providers.

At issue is the right of law-abiding American citizens to access safe and private medical care, separate and apart from a predatory protocol of far right FBI personnel toward law-abiding "targets of interest" and their family members.

Among the many relevant questions regarding my son's care, the following leap to mind for me:

Should my son have been misdiagnosed by his physicians, ignoring his pituitary disease, in their acquiescence to FBI demands?

Should my son's physicians have been coerced by their FBI handlers to misreport assumptions about the health of my son's family members?

Should my son's right to private and safe medical care have been repeatedly violated by the FBI's unlawful disclosure of his symptoms to others?

Are Michael and Margeret Herzen, together with Kathy Brady, among those to whom unlawful disclosure of my son's medical symptoms was extended by FBI personnel?

Should information about my son's weight for the last two years be willfully withheld from us by Dr. Jacob Ballon at the direction of his FBI handler, given that my son was weighed at each and every appointment?

Should Dr. Ballon and other health care providers acquiesce to FBI demands that they mischaracterize his parents as neglectful or uncaring?

OIG Hotline investigators, there is no question in my view that violations of patient privacy and safety as perpetrated by FBI personnel and affiliates serve to obstruct and delay adequate medical care for "targets of interest" and their families.

Is there anything about such a protocol on the part of far right factions of the FBI that contributes to the security of our nation?

What can we say about FBI personnel who obstruct necessary medical diagnosis and treatment in a circumstance such as this one for the specific purpose of accusing "targets of interest" of mental illness or neglect?

In the interests of the civil liberties and human rights of all Americans, I ask that you ascertain the truth of FBI actions and directives regarding my son's physicians.

In advocating for him properly, I as his parent will seek consultation with trustworthy medical providers who refuse to violate medical ethics even when FBI personnel may direct them to do so.

That advocacy can only occur with our access to the truth of the FBI's engagement in this matter.

Please accept my deep gratitude for your ongoing investigative efforts, which stand of such great import regarding the futures of all of us who love democracy.

With appreciation,

Lane MacWilliams
