OIG Hotline, I have been informed that the FBI has recently asserted knowingly false and defamatory allegations against me, despite having been thoroughly cautioned against this crime.
Accordingly, I would respectfully request that the damages within any agreed-upon settlement you have negotiated on my behalf be increased by the amount of a fine between one million dollars and the total value of the settlement, at your sole discretion.
The FBI needs to experience swift and severe penalties for every act of defamation if the agency is to learn that these crimes will no longer be tolerated by the American public.
Every individual within the FBI or among its affiliates who participates in such defamation should suffer a career penalty, in my opinion, though I realize that may be beyond the immediate reach of the OIG Hotline.
Still, ongoing defamation has been anticipated as a stratagem on which the FBI might depend. Such crimes should impoverish the agency, in my opinion, and, if the FBI has come to a contractual agreement regarding the settlement of my case, persistent and intentional crimes of defamation can provide the clearly established legal route to halt the agency's defamatory abuses decisively.
Thank you for allowing me to express my perspective on this subject.
Most sincerely,
Lane MacWilliams
