My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Re:  CCPA Privacy Requests of Comerica Bank; Further Details

Dear Ms. Farahani:

This communication serves as follow up to recent communications from Comerica Bank.  I would like to address several outstanding concerns:

1.  My husband and I are in receipt of statements from Comerica Bank dated September 25, 2023 regarding account number xxxxxx5778 (zero balance,) September 26, 2023 regarding account number xxxxxx5786 (zero balance), and September 27, 2023 regarding account number xxxxxx5794 (zero balance).

Together with these statements, Comerica has extended a notice with the heading "Important Privacy Choices for California Consumers."

Please be aware that I submitted a CCPA Privacy Request with Comerica Bank on the afternoon of May 19, 2023.  Please see screenshots attached herewith.  My photograph of Comerica's "Request Submitted" page appears to have been deleted from my cell phone, although I'm sure this is recoverable through cell phone forensics.

My husband submitted his CCPA Privacy Request on the same date.  Cell phone photographs of his request should be recoverable through cell phone forensics as well.

Comerica should have a record of our CCPA Privacy Requests.  Would you please confirm for me that the Bank received our requests on May 19, 2023?  That would be greatly appreciated.

2.  Were the wire transfers of all Comerica balances to Bank of America successful in every regard?

3.  If the wire transfers of all of our Comerica balances to Bank of America were successful in every regard, how will Comerica judiciously proceed to close all of these accounts without complications, problems, or privacy violations of any kind whatsoever toward my husband or myself, now or in the future?

As you know, Comerica sent me a letter stating its intention to sever its banking relationship with me as a consumer, without providing any explanation, as of August 28, 2023.

Ms. Farahani, please understand that my husband and I retain all of our privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

If, for any reason whatsoever, Comerica Bank has misplaced my husband's and my May 19, 2023 Privacy Requests under the CCPA, please consider this letter our repeated requests that Comerica preserve all of our privacy rights in every regard now and in the future.

A single exception to these privacy requests is extended to the Office of the Inspector General Hotline of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Should the OIG Hotline of the U.S. DOJ have investigative requirements of Comerica Bank, we authorize the Bank to engage in full disclosure with OIG Hotline investigators.  Please be mindful that the OIG Hotline is not synonymous with the OIG.  We grant investigative privileges concerning Comerica Bank to the OIG Hotline, and to no other investigators, Office, individual, business, or entity.

Because I stand as a whistleblower of FBI malfeasance concerning the agency's perpetration of knowingly falsified law enforcement reporting toward law-abiding American citizens, the FBI is particularly motivated to discredit me through falsified material aggregated, held, and disseminated by third-party affiliates, such as Comerica Bank.

It is Comerica's legal obligation not to comply with such harmful directives from the FBI or any of its affiliates.

Ms. Farahani, I look forward to your responses to the above concerns, and on a prioritized basis.

Please be apprised that this communication will be shared with the Office of the Inspector General Hotline of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thank you for your ethical engagement with these important issues.

Sincerely,

Lane and Ken MacWilliams
