My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

UPDATE: Planned Retrieval of Mail, Sunday, August 17, 2023

UPDATE:  OIG Hotline, my husband and I both filmed his retrieval of mail today, because we were concerned about the Christopher J. Siliezar letter.  We both reviewed the mail multiple times and did not find this letter present within our mailbox.   We checked all magazines and leaflets to see if it could have been concealed inside another mailer, but it was not present.

I'm glad we both witnessed this retrieval of mail, because we can both attest to this process.

Otherwise, the mail retrieval this evening was routine.

My husband filmed each piece of mail, as did I, and he left the letters from Jim Mellano/AFE and SC Fund Recovery in place, without disturbing them in any way.

As you know, the ownership of these two letters has already been conveyed to the OIG Hotline.

The circumstance of Christopher J. Siliezar  letter  -- slated for delivery to our post box, yet addressed to someone else -- has never occurred for us before. Nor has the disappearance of a letter scheduled for delivery according to USPS advance email notification.

Neither my husband nor I know anything about this mailing, the alleged addressee, or the contents.

As a result of the irregularities present within the USPS August 30 documentation, I'm glad we documented this mail retrieval twice over.

Thank you for allowing me to document these concerns.

OIG Hotline, please be aware that USPS Informed Delivery sent a copy of this piece of mail to lanemacwilliams@gmail.com on August 30, 2023 at 7:24 AM.

The addressee appears to be Christopher J. Siliezar at 430 Sand Hill Circle, Menlo Park, CA 94025 and the sender appears to be the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

This letter, clearly, should not be coming to our address for any reason.

A quick online search for Mr. Siliezar reveals a remarkably shallow internet footprint, consistent with a fake identity.

Further, this piece of mail appears to be shielding another letter, and one wonders what that shielded communication might be.

My husband will plan to retrieve mail from our mailbox shortly, but will not retrieve the letter addressed to Christopher J. Siliezar, nor any other mail deemed suspicious, wrongly addressed or previously rejected.

I believe that it would be unlawful for us to retain a letter addressed to someone else, so my husband will immediately mark this letter "not at this address" and place it in the mail slot for pick up by the USPS postal carrier tomorrow.  In addition, he will photograph the letter as relabeled and left for pickup by the postal carrier.

I suspect that this communication could reflect an attempt on the part of the FBI to claim that my husband and/or I are accepting remuneration for unlawful activity.  To be clear, we are not.

However, there are any number of lies the FBI could attach to wrongly addressed mail.

I have never encountered a problem like this through the U.S. Postal Service previously.

I will update this post shortly.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams

OIG Hotline, my husband will retrieve our mail today, September 17, 2023.

He will use a body cam, as he did during previous mail retrieval, to film the entire process of his handling each piece of mail that we accept.  The ownership of this camera and its micro SD card have already been conveyed to the OIG Hotline Investigations Division.

He will not retrieve or open the letters from Jim Mellano of AFE nor from SC Fund Recovery, but rather, will leave them in place.  To confirm, ownership of the Jim Mellano/AFE letter and the SC Fund Recovery letter have been transferred to the OIG Hotline Investigations Division and will be provided to them as soon as they request them.

My husband will affix a new security seal to the lock on the box when he has completed his retrieval of accepted mail.

For clarity, neither Ken nor I have opened the mailbox since Ken's last documented retrieval of acceptable mail.

We hope that the security measures we have taken -- that of the security seal, and the presence of lights and an alarm, will have been sufficient to prevent tampering with our mailbox in the interim.

Again, we hope that Jim Mellano has been honest in his characterization of the contents of the AFE letter as a simple, unaltered 1099 form.

However, because Jim Mellano has lied in writing in the past, we are taking all precautions to ensure our family's security, as well as to preserve any material that could possibly assist OIG Hotline investigators in their inquiry into falsified law enforcement reporting for anti-democratic objectives.

Whether Jim Mellano's actions in sending a letter against my express directives were intended to alarm me -- and discredit me in that process -- or whether they were intended to further a plan of falsified law enforcement reporting against my family or myself -- it seems wise to me to exercise great caution and care in this circumstance.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is true and correct.
