OIG Hotline, my older son was apparently prompted by his handler on October 27, 2024 to ask me to “fill out his ballot together” with him. I found this request to be alarming, for obvious reasons, and attempted to reaffirm basic democratic principles for my family members pertaining to the independent voting process.

GTM to LM at 8:26 AM, October 27, 2024:
Hey Mom! Since election day is coming up I was wondering if you might want to research the ballot measures with me and Dad!
GTM to LM at 9:03 AM, October 27, 2024:
It would be fun, you could tell us what sites to look at!
LM to GTM at 10:10 AM, October 27, 2024:
Gray, in past years, it has been a delight to research the ballot measures prior to discussion. It’s always critical that your research, your analysis of the candidates and the issues, and your vote on the candidates and the issues is your own, though. You have that independence and sovereignty, of which I am so proud. I do not want to influence you regarding your decisions, and I know your father doesn’t either. We both have faith in your own judgement. But I’m glad you brought up this subject, because I’m putting your voter information pamphlet by the door for your father to bring to you today! Your ballot may be in the mailbox as well - so we’ll check that today, too!
GTM to LM at 10:11 AM, October 27, 2024:
It would be great to be able to fill it out together! Is there any way we could discuss it before I vote?
LM to GTM at 10:27 AM, October 27, 2024:
Sweetheart, it’s very important that you not “fill out your ballot together” with anyone. This is sacred territory with regard to democratic norms. While discussion of the issues can be public if the electorate so decides, voting itself should be private.
GTM to LM at 10:28 AM, October 27, 2024:
Would you be willing to discuss certain measures with me?
GTM to LM at 10:51 AM, October 27, 2024:
I would like to see you at some point!
LM to GTM at 7:03 PM October 27, 2024:
Sweetheart, be sure to fill out your ballot by yourself, because it’s quite important for you to maintain that independence!
GTM to LM at 8:42 PM, October 27, 2024:
Ok! I would still like to see you at some point!
LM to GTM at 12:37 AM, October 28, 2024:
Yes that would be lovely, Gray! I almost saw you on Saturday, but at the last minute, your father went in search of you instead.

I would strongly recommend using the Socratic method vis a vis Graham’s research. Let him be entirely independent with the research, as well as encouraging further thought.
LM to KPM at 5:43 PM on October 27, 2024
Do not allow him to open or mark his ballot while you are present.
LM to KPM at 5:44 PM on October 27, 2024
That could have been better phrased! Do not remain present if he opens or marks his ballot!
KPM to LM at 5:45 PM on October 27, 2024:
Jes - understand
(Please note that my husband reports that he and our son did not research ballot measures on Sunday, October 27, 2024, nor did my son open or mark his ballot in my husband’s presence.)

Most sincerely,
Please allow me to once again extend the disclaimer that some threats received by me and extended by the FBI are unsubstantiated by me at this time. I regret that I am unable to assess the credibility of every threat extende.ed by this agency or its affiliates, and also that I am not in a position to judge the likelihood of manifestation. Having said that, many of the FBI's threats toward my family in the past have manifested in real-world harms. As a result, I believe that FBI threats extended to me must be viewed as potentially substantive.
