My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Update: Request for Interventiion Pertaining to PG&E Power Outage 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM Today, October 18, 2024

OIG Hotline, we suffered an unexpected PG&E power outage at our Portola Valley residence from 7:00 AM until 10:30 AM this morning.

I stepped out my front door at approximately 7:10 AM, remaining on the front step the whole time, to try to ascertain whether there was a work crew at the Hyvers' residence next door.  While I could not rule out the presence of a small crew, I did not observe anyone.  I did not climb my driveway, as I was still in my bathrobe.  I did not speak to anyone, leave material for anyone, or retrieve material of any kind.

My husband awoke at 7:22 AM and finished the preparation for his medical procedure.

I dressed, read the New York Times (Thursday's edition, since Friday's is still at the top of our driveway) -- and studied fo the purpose of intellectual engagement.

I did manage to send an email to your attention within lanemacwilliams@gmail.com at 8:43 AM, using 5G coverage only, stating that we were experiencing a power outage.

Other than that, I sent no communications to anyone.  Nor did my husband.

Other than my sixty seconds on the front step, listening for work crews next door, I did not venture outside at all.

When our power was restored at 10:30 AM, it seemed that the FBI had claimed that it had extended false allegations concerning my conduct and/or that of my husband, perhaps intended to wrongfully justify his harm during his upcoming medical procedure.

I am concerned that falsified video or audio, perhaps pre-prepared by the FBI or its affiliates, could be utilized to cause my husband substantive harm during his procedure today, unless there is intervention on his behalf disqualifying all false reporting.  Certainly, the White House will have to allow this disqualification to occur, and I respectfully call upon Vice President Kamala Harris to do so.

Please note that my husband sent his daily statement of lawful and honorable conduct to my email as of a few minutes ago, at 10:47 AM.

This document is to confirm that all of my conduct, and that of my husband, during the power outage, as at all other times, was lawful and honorable in every way, shape and form.

I hereby contest the claims of any person who suggests otherwise as knowingly, willfully and categorically false.

Please note that this documentation will also be provided to your Office via email.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is true and correct.

Most sincerely,

Lane MacWilliams
