My Third Novel's Conclusion, My Heartbreak

My heart begins to break when I think about completing this particular book -- because this narrative has sustained me like no other story I've known. It's both more personal and more universal than my other works. But beyond memory and archetype, it's a cri-de-coeur about needing to become the person one is destined to be. And in the writing, I have met my own life's work, my own fated journey -- having the sense all the while that the pages are suffused with a resonance, an energy, an electrified field that defies explanation. Writers hope and pray to be overtaken by a work in this way -- to be conscripted into passionate service of a profound story. To experience it even once in a lifetime seems a great privilege. I still have several months before this novel is complete, and this constitutes my reprieve. Because I'm not ready for the beauty to end.

Elemental Sovereignty

1.  You have been told that General Mark Milley was displeased by your open letter to him.

Answer:  I have been told that.  Yes.

2.  What is your response?

Answer:  My letter attempted to address the forms of just authority vested in mankind.  It implied, but did not overtly state, that man oversteps his just authority when he attempts to be the arbiter of life and death for peaceable civilians.  I also referenced concerns about violations of the Constitution inherent within programs such as the Signature Reduction Program that seek to exert this type of totalitarian control over the public, albeit through clandestine means.

The founding fathers provided for civilian control over the military.

Fortunately, we have a Commander-in-Chief of great wisdom and integrity in President Joseph Robinette Biden.

It is the responsibility of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to follow his directives.

3.  You had an experience yesterday in which the FBI attempted to send their own employee to your home in the guise of a Notary Public.

Answer:  That's true.

4.  Did this FBI employee wish you well?

Answer:  Unfortunately, no.

5.  And did this scheme originate from within the U.S. military?  Did it originate with General Milley?

Answer:  It appears that General Milley may have been unwilling to remove me from his list of "hard targets," despite giving assurances to the contrary to his boss.

6.  And why would that be?

Answer:  It appears possible that the Signature Reduction Program has been involved in perpetrating human rights violations against the law-abiding American public.  If that is the case, it is necessary to ask who within the military hierarchy has been aware of these crimes and for what period of time.

7.  You don't give General Milley a free pass.

Answer:  Every individual is responsible for his or her own conduct in this life.  Everyone.  From the General to the window washer, from the CEO to the janitor.  This should not come as a surprise.

8.  You feel you have a right to your life.

Answer:  Yes.  All Americans have a right to their lives, and this is the point.  No American citizen deserves to be placed into a fight for survival by the far right.  That circumstance is unacceptable on every level.

I recently watched Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments, in which Mr. DeMille himself gives the introduction.

In it, he asks, Are men the property of the state, or are they free souls under God?

Rameses thought certain men could be deprived of their fundamental humanity, but Moses thought differently.

9.  This describes the essential conflict between autocracy and democracy, does it not?

Answer:  It does.  Our democracy assumes that all Americans possess certain inalienable rights.  No one within our country is empowered to remove those rights, no matter his appointment or his title.

10.  Is it your belief that the FBI's unconstitutional Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative and affiliated "target of interest" program have been designed to provide fodder for the military's Signature Reduction Program?  In other words, is it your belief that the U.S. military, desiring certain domestic "targets," is provided with a given number of names per year by agreement with the FBI?  Perhaps international "targets," which are treated differently, are provided in certain numbers by the CIA?

Answer:  I believe this is almost certain to be the case.  Autocratic systems depend on this kind of clandestine interdependency between corrupt law enforcement entities and predatory military officials.  This is a pattern that has repeated many times throughout history.  And it always catches democratic societies by surprise.

11.  Democracies cannot see it coming.

Answer:  No, they truly cannot.  Certain marginalized individuals begin to complain from the far boundaries of people's awareness -- and then, suddenly, the power grab from the far right becomes centralized, as in a January 6-type event.

12.  It is your understanding that the far right within the U.S. military has gained a "lights out" capability over many other countries, even those we consider our allies.

Answer:  Yes, but the far right has also gained this capacity domestically by co-opting the utilities companies.

13.  Hence your comment to General Milley that it is his responsibility to keep the U.S grid up and running.  That statement on your part is said to have particularly rankled his sensibilities.

Answer:  It is General Milley's job to keep the U.S. grid up and running.  There is no room for failure in this realm.  General Milley has many obligations to the American public, and the safe, stable provision of power is among them.  The American public has the right to expect that General Milley is familiar with the U.S. Constitution and that his vows to uphold it are binding.

14.  Are you still receiving threats to your safety and that of your family members?

Answer:  I am.  There are extensive threats of military/law enforcement raid on my home, threats of kidnapping/murder, threats of targeting a loved one's air travel, threats of sniper assault, threats of assault with some type of cane-tipped toxin or umbrella-tipped toxin, threats of "extracting" me from my vehicle on an isolated stretch of road, threats of EMF, ELF, and radiological hazard, threats of staged car accident, threats of arson/flooding, threats of IRS audit due to intentional failures by CPA JoAnn Chow -- on and on.

15.  If you could speak directly to General Milley, what would you tell him?

Answer:  Americans possess elemental sovereignty over their own dreams, their own endeavors, their own families, their own friendships, their own futures, their own souls.

No one affiliated with the Signature Reduction Program, the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative, or the "Target of Interest" program should attempt to usurp that sovereignty, no matter his rank.

16.  Will General Milley be interested in what you have to say?

Answer:  I noticed that he was not particularly interested in what the peaceful protesters of Lafayette Square had to say -- until the American public condemned his presence next to Donald Trump holding an upside-down Bible.

The American people have a pressing interest to know about the activities of U.S. military contractors under the Signature Reduction Program when those contractors are preying upon them directly.

17.  Perhaps General Milley might contract for your disappearance or demise, or that of a family member, but only if he could do so clandestinely?

Answer:  I believe that's correct, which is why I'm going to be writing about General Milley until my circumstances improve.

18.  Are both of your phone landlines still disconnected without explanation by AT&T?

Answer:  They are disconnected without explanation, yes.

19. You have lived in your house for seven years, and how many times before now has the disconnection of both of your landlines occurred?

Answer:  Never.

20.  Do you believe you are placed at greater risk of harm with limited or no ability to reach out to others for help in the event of a break-in?

Answer:  Without question.

21.  Perhaps General Milley won't wish to be seen as the predator who cut your phone lines and then sent Special Forces personnel to prey upon your family.

Answer:  Perhaps not.

22.  On another subject altogether, someone asked you today whether you hope President Biden will run again. What was your response?

Answer:  President Biden represents democracy's greatest hope the world over.  His integrity, his courage, his intelligence, his wisdom, his compassion, his dedication, his vision for our shared future -- all of these render him irreplaceable.

23.  You believe in his leadership as Commander-in-Chief.

Answer:  With my full faith and confidence.

24. You will be voting for him.

Answer:  Enthusiastically.

25.  You believe in him as our best and brightest defender of democracy.

Answer:  With every fiber of my being.  Yes, I do.
